Meet Yeojin
From fashion to meditation

I’m still the same person who loves beauty. I know now that it begins on the inside.
I started sketching dresses at four years old in Korea, studied fashion full-time at fifteen, and began my career at seventeen. Over three decades I built a life in the fast pace of fashion, fifteen years of it as founder of my own label, selling around the world and winning awards.
From the outside, my life looked pretty great. But I was dealing with a huge amount of stress and nothing I tried would improve my sleep. What I discovered through my meditation practice was a calmness and stillness within me that I could access easily, and it led to better sleep, more creativity and a deeper connection to life. Over the next nine years I trained with respected teachers around the globe. I finished with a three-month teacher training in India, immersed in Vedic wisdom and meditating up to 10 hours a day.
Having lived that pace myself, I now teach Vedic meditation to creatives, busy professionals, and people of every age living with high levels of stress. I bring the same sensibility to teaching that I brought to design: attention to detail, respect for tradition, and a belief that the best things feel effortless.
I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Shankaracharya lineage and all custodians of this Vedic wisdom.
About Vedic meditation
Do lessand accomplish more

Vedic meditation is an ancient, effortless technique. A personal mantra lets the mind settle naturally beyond active thought into a state of deep rest. This is called transcending. If you have a mind that just won’t stop thinking, this is perfect for you. There is no need to focus or concentrate, empty your mind, sit cross-legged, or adopt a belief system. Vedic meditation supports deep rest and better sleep, releases stress and fatigue, and encourages clearer thinking and creativity.
In a fast-paced world where people are ‘on’ all the time, we are skilled at doing more, striving and pushing. We have lost the ability to rest properly, to switch off and simply be. Rest is the antidote to stress, and Vedic meditation provides very deep rest. It can lower cortisol effectively in a single 20-minute session. Close your eyes, let go, and then re-engage with the world with renewed stability and inspiration.
Less doing, more being.
Vedic meditation is always taught in person, across four consecutive days. All four days must be attended.

What students say
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for teaching me meditation. I can’t believe how simple and attainable it has been, and really loved the talking, listening and learning of the wisdom and philosophy as well. The way you teach it makes so much sense, and feels real, not esoteric.
PhillipaWith Yeojin’s calming guidance, I found the method so simple to learn. I stopped scrolling in the morning to wake myself up. After 20 minutes of meditation I start my day calm, clear-minded and intentional: better sleep, more creativity, more gratitude and clear ambition.
PeterQuestions
Frequently asked
What is Vedic?
Vedic is an English version of the Sanskrit word Veda, which means knowledge. It comes from ancient India and is not Hinduism; it predates all religions. It is a 5,000-year-old body of knowledge governing the laws of nature that gave us yoga, Vedic meditation and Ayurveda.
Is Vedic meditation a religious practice?
No. There is no belief system to adopt. It is a simple, natural technique practised sitting comfortably with your eyes closed.
How is it different from mindfulness?
Many meditation practices ask you to focus, observe or control your thoughts. Vedic meditation is the opposite: it is effortless, with no concentration, and the mantra lets your mind settle in its own time.
What is a mantra?
A mantra is a sound with no meaning, used as a vehicle to let your attention settle inward. On the first day, you will receive your own personal mantra. The mantra is practised silently and effortlessly internally, there is no forcing and no concentration.
What is transcending and how does it feel?
Transcending is the mind settling beyond active thought into a quiet, restful state. You are awake and aware, yet it is different from waking, dreaming, or sleeping. It can feel like the moment just before you fall asleep, drifting between states, while your body gains deep rest.
My mind never stops. Will it work for me?
Yes. Unlike practices that ask you to clear your mind or stop thinking, Vedic meditation embraces thoughts as a natural part of the mental process. Having them does not mean you are doing it wrong, and there is nothing to suppress or control. You simply return to the mantra effortlessly, and your mind settles in its own time.
Can Vedic meditation help with stress, exhaustion and burnout?
Yes, deep rest is where it starts. Regular practice helps shift your nervous system out of chronic “fight-or-flight” mode and can lower stress hormones such as cortisol. Over time it releases stress and fatigue and helps you recover your energy. It works well alongside professional care, so please keep seeing your doctor or therapist if you need to.
I’m too busy. Shouldn’t I wait until life is easier?
Vedic meditation was made for full, busy lives. It is 20 minutes, twice a day, and the rest it gives you tends to make the rest of the day easier. A hectic life is a very good reason to begin now.
What does a regular practice look like?
You sit comfortably with your eyes closed for 20 minutes, twice a day, usually in the morning and again in the late afternoon or early evening. You need no special equipment, and you can practise almost anywhere you can sit comfortably, such as a chair, a couch, a park bench or even your parked car.
Where do you teach, and can I learn online?
Courses are taught in person in St Kilda, Melbourne. The technique is always taught face to face, because settling into finer states of silence needs refinement from an experienced teacher.
Can I cancel or change my dates?
Course fees are non-refundable, but you are welcome to move to another course date if your plans change. Please let us know as early as you can so we can hold your place.
What support do I get after the course?
Lifetime access to regular group meditation and wisdom sessions, and you can re-sit the course for free anytime as a refresher, with Yeojin or any affiliated teacher worldwide. You will also receive regular newsletters with additional knowledge and gentle reminders to help you stay with your practice.
What if Vedic meditation doesn’t work for me?
Results look different for everyone, and some people take a little longer to notice them. You can re-sit the course for free, and you have a personal teacher for life to answer your questions.
How soon will I notice results?
Many people notice deeper rest and better sleep within the first few days or weeks, while other benefits build gradually with regular practice. Everyone is different. This is an ancient practice that has stood the test of time, practised by millions of people worldwide.
Giving back
The dogs ofPeedam and Vellore
While studying in India to become a Vedic meditation teacher, I cared for a litter of puppies and their mother with daily feeding, herbs and medicine. There is great need to reduce the suffering of stray dogs in India.
I support Green Sakthi’s Small Animal Protection Programme to neuter, feed and care for the dogs of Peedam.
